Devlog #2: baby steps


Hi! We hope you’re having a great week!

The past two weeks we've been working on the basic structure of the game and the first assets.

First the background sketch and a first iteration of the idle position for "yamboman" was used to start programming the game movement, you can now move both players by using "WASD" keys for player one and the arrow keys for player two.

Hitboxes were made for both characters and a generic football asset was placed as means to test the player/ball interaction.

About movement, characters can now walk and double jump with a feeling of momentum, pushing the placeholder ball around. We are hoping to have in the next weeks goals to score points and different ball interactions.


The last thing we programmed was a basic main menu with two options, play game and exit, we aim to add a settings menu and maybe a gallery for art and soundtrack.


Talking about assets, we made a slap animation and a walking animation for "yamboman", this still are a little bit around the edges but are going to be used for testing purposes.
